Kimono is a Japanese sophisticated garment with a long history, over one thousand years. Kimono is an ultimate eco-friendly garment, produced by handwork and passed on from one generation to another generation.
MODE & CLASSIC sublimes the Japanese exquisite style to the global fashion arena and promotes new elegant fashion styles, Fusion. The runway looks are divided into three parts, each with its own theme.
The first part is CLASSIC. Furisode, a young women’s long-sleeved formal dress, and Haori Hakama, a men’s traditional formal dress, are presented.
The second part is CLASSIC to MODE. A kimono designer / stylist, Hiromi Asai, makes the style change on stage.
The final part is MODE. A see-through kimono jacket and Ro summer kimono as well as men’s avant-garde style are presented. HINAYA KYOTO textiles and maco beads are widely applied for adding various tastes.
